Welcome to Primitive Stone Archery:
"The objective is to develop a solid shot cycle and a consistent form to facilitate instinctive shooting with traditional archery equipment."
Objectives of Course:
• Understanding the Archers Trinity, an instinctive shooting method and process for developing an instinctive and intuitive ability we all.
****Safety Precautions****
• Always maintain control over the area where you are practicing!
• We highly recommend joining a traditional archery organization, they can assist in the
process and connection with the art and sport of traditional archery.
• Always use an appropriate backstop- This will ensure your arrows do not travel beyond
or through your target.
• Be sure of your target and what is beyond- Always make sure that no one enters your
shooting area.
• Never point a nocked bow & arrow at anyone- Accidents do not happen- they are
caused! Control your bow and range area at all times!
• Never run with an arrow nocked on the string or with an arrow in your hand- Running
with a bow and arrow is dangerous- falling and tripping onto an arrow shaft can result.
• Never dry fire a bow- Dry firing a bow can cause damage to the limbs and riser- without
an arrow on the string the limbs of the bow will take the energy when the bow is dry
fired- this can result in damage to the bow.
• Always use a stringer to brace your bow- Always brace your bow with a bow stringer
this will keep the pressure on both limbs evenly and ensure that the string is sitting
correctly in the string grooves on the limb tips. Longbows/flatbows and self bows can be
braced with the step through method.
